Amerika Plads

 America Plads is a whole district by the water – in the centre of Copenhagen. A district with a mix of businesses and housing, that presents itself beautifully.

The district consists of many separate buildings that together form a whole.

One of the buildings, for which Hoffmann A/S served as the turnkey building contractor, is a true architectural gem. CSK designed, produced and installed load-bearing steel columns, load-bearing composite beams, two stairwells with stairs, two additional staircases and a main staircase with railing.

The steel structures play a key contribution to the building presenting itself as architects C.F. Møller A/S intended.  It thus harmonises architecturally with ‘Kobbertårn’ among other buildings, where the Plesner law firm has been based in recent years. 

Around 550 tonnes of steel have been used and 3,200 hours for the installation work in the seven-storey building, which has 4,000 m2 of housing, 6,000 m2 of business premises and 2,000 m2 of underground parking.

First impression of the capital
Amerika Plads is the district where many of the large cruise ships berth when they visit Copenhagen. The district is thus helping to give foreign visitors a good first impression of the Danish capital.
