Following the opening of Bella Sky in 2011, one of Ørestad’s most spectacular buildings came to serve as a kind of gateway to the district.
With its twin 76-metre-tall towers, Bella Sky is the largest hotel in Scandinavia – and the most aesthetic.
CSK supplied 80 tonnes of steel for the buildings. Primarily for the large crane rails on the top, but also for the entrance, which greets conference attendees and travellers with a gigantic steel arch. We also supplied indoor and outdoor steel for several structures in the building.
Bella Sky’s two towers, designed by architects 3XN, each lean to opposite sides, like a dancing couple in motion. The towers lean twice as much as the Leaning Tower of Pisa, making the hotel the ‘Denmark’s most crooked building’. The deviation also ensures that all hotel guests can enjoy magnificent views of Amager Fælled and the Copenhagen skyline.
The new Bella Center Copenhagen, in all its grandeur, highlights Ørestad as an urban centre and a modern landmark for Copenhagen.
