CSK was responsible for the design of the two impressive spiral staircases that serve as the main staircases in Swedbank’s head office outside Stockholm. CSK also designed and installed three more staircases with railing.

Swedbank’s prominent headquarters have 45,000 m2 of floor space and house 2,500 employees. The building was designed by Danish architects 3XN, based on the bank’s core values. The design thus signals openness, simplicity, thoughtfulness and endurance.

Challenging spiral staircases
The building’s two main staircases – the offset spiral staircases – are large and strong. One services six floors and the other seven. The special thing about these spiral staircases is that the different levels are slightly offset, rather than directly below each other.

The size of the stairs makes them protrude very much from the centre point, and this placed extra high demands on the accuracy of our calculations. Despite the somewhat atypical design, each has an incredibly strong structure.

CSK has been involved all the way, from consultancy and design to the production and installation of the staircases and railing.
