CPH – E wing

As a key element in the extensive expansion of Copenhagen Airport (CPH), the first stage of the new E wing was opened in June 2019.The building contains the first 8 of a total of 13 new gates, offices, a new passport control and Denmark’s largest stained glass mosaic.

The E wing is the largest expansion of CPH since Terminal 3 opened in 1998. A key aim of the new expansion is also to handle passengers in an intuitive flow to and from Terminal 3.

The new wing has four floors. The departure area is located on the ground floor, while the arrivals area on the second floor divides into three suspended walkways for different types of passengers. The building is therefore characterised by a spatial dynamism and open interaction between arriving and departing passengers.

CSK produced, surface-treated and installed the steel staircases that connect the floors in the new E wing. The delivery included:

  • Two U-shaped two-storey staircases
  • Two straight single-storey staircases
  • All with clamped glass railing and stainless steel handrails
  • Various stainless steel railing in passageways.
